Deception and outright lies.
If you're not familiar with Justice with Judge Jeanine, it is a show on the FOX News Network starring Jeanine Pirro. She is known for her over-the-top rants where she serves up gobs of fresh red meat for her largely hard right wing audience. While it's not unusual for her to be a little fast and loose with the facts, she has been known to occasionally return from the break with a correction from her producers. Last night, however, there was no such correction to an outright lie she told on the show, and the matter being discussed should have (at the very least) contained a disclaimer from the host. I would cut her some slack, but as a former prosecutor and judge, she should be well aware of what proper protocol should have been here.

Keeping it real.
In the lead up to the 2016 Presidential Election we heard a lot about fake news. Stories like "Pizzagate" were getting their play on Facebook and other social media sites much to the frustration of legitimate journalists. It got so bad that Facebook was supposed to introduce a "Fake News" alert to pop up on stories that aren't legitimate, although I've seen no evidence of them having done that. Since President Trump was elected, we've heard even more about fake news, but it seems to be an entirely different type of thing which he is referencing. Last week the President spoke at CPAC and he gave us a glimpse into what he is talking about when he makes the "Fake News" claim, and it might not be what you think it is. Let's take a look at what Trump had to say about fake news, and then we will take a look at what fake news actually is.

Does a bear defecate in the woods?
Before you get all excited here, this is not another serving of my world class Haterade. Is the SEC the best conference in College Football? Perhaps. Yes, I said perhaps. Now if you're a fan of the SEC or you know one, you probably cringed when you read that preparing for the slew of insults that gets hurled at anyone who would dare argue otherwise. However, the point of this post is not to argue otherwise. It is to challenge the ridiculous notion propagated by SEC supporters that their conference is head and shoulders above the rest of college football. As their fans like to put it, the SEC is playing the NFL when everyone else is playing college football. But are they really that good?

Some rights we just can't seem to handle.
Day in and day out, we here in America seem to be working hard to prove that there are some freedoms that bring with them a higher level of responsibility than we are able to handle. Despite our best efforts, we seem to be unable to control our animal instinct, and nothing proves this better than the incident last week that left a promising young NFL talent and the mother of his child dead. How many people have to die before we wake up? How much blood must be shed before people step up and demand that we do the right thing and for once and for all amend our Constitution in such a way that crimes like this will be prevented. Can we say Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins will be the last to die at the hands of our antiquated laws?

Remember Cindy... what's her name?
Meet Joe Soptic. He's the latest in the long line of people that make the tragic mistake of thinking that the Democrats care. Trust me, they don't. So Joe is now the latest victim of the Democrats who gets suckered into exploiting the memory of a dead relative for the best interest of the party. I know, it seems like the thing to do at the time. The media attention and all of the politicians fawning over you makes it seem as if they are genuinely concerned. They will give you well wishes and follow you around... until election day, that is. They don't care about your loved one. They don't want to make it better for you. They just want the emotion of your story behind their campaign. Speaking of which, has anyone seen Cindy Sheehan?

How will these two fare?
Today's entry comes from the PowerWall blog, an extension of WonderWall, a property of MSNBC, which is of course a subsidiary of MSN. Of course, is a blog a certain amount of artistic liberty is allowed, but I believe it is safe to say that MSNBC is a left wing news outlet. But just how left wing are they? Take a look at their latest article on Republican hopeful Newt Gingrich, compared to their take on the First Lady in a photo gallery linked right beside the article.
