Obama Focuses On Real Threat... Credit Card Companies

As Obama's War on Wealth entered a new phase, the Credit Card front, he announced his plan of attack today. I quote here. "More effective oversight and more effective enforcement so that people who are issuing credit cards but violate the law, they will feel the full weight of the law." I found this quote to be rather interesting in light of another breaking story today. The Washington Post reports that "The CIA briefed top Democrats and Republicans on the congressional intelligence committees more than 30 times about enhanced interrogation techniques, according to intelligence sources who said the lawmakers tacitly approved the techniques that some Democrats in Congress now say should land Bush administration officials in jail. "

I'll try to break this down to a level that even the most liberal can understand. If lawmakers approved of waterboarding, and there is no law (administration officials still haven't listed one) that was being violated, than waterboarding was legal. Hence, the Bush Administration was making sure that terrorists who had already harmed our Country and were seeking to inflict more harm would "feel the full weight of the law". Since Obama has banned the use of the practice, it is also accurate to say that he is opposed to using the full weight of the law against terrorists. He instead is discussing using the full weight of the law against those who violated no law in their use of the full weight of the law against terrorists. Follow? Credit card companies will feel the full weight of the law. Al Qaeda will not.

Now, here is a quote from Barack Obama during the campaign. “I've got some news for John McCain. I've got some news for John McCain. He took us into a war, along with George Bush that should have never been authorized, never been waged. They took their eye off the people who were responsible for 9/11 and that would be Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, that is stronger now than at any time since 2001. I've been paying attention John McCain! " *emphasis added

Yet having stated this, President Obama has taken the full weight of the law off of Al Qaeda and placed it on what he must then deem to be the real enemy, the credit card companies. Defend this if you dare, lefties. My suggestion to you Obama apologists in the media and you left wing bloggers blinded by your Celebrity in Chief is that you schedule a little meeting with Dear Leader's On The Job Training Czar and get this guy up to speed. Is he punch drunk? No, he is drunk with power. And over there in the imaginary world he has built for himself, that may work. But here in the real world, his actions are criminally negligent. There are a few things he needs to be made aware of.

  1. Waterboarding works. When 9/11 Mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed was asked by the CIA if there were other attacks on the U.S. being planned, he said "soon you will know". After being waterboarded he gave up the info that was used to preempt the attacks.
  2. Waterboarding works. Waterboarding Abu Zubaydah lead to the arrests of several terrorists.
To threaten legal action against those who have committed no crime, but rather have offended your political point of view is tyrannical. To publicly state that you will no longer use the full weight of the law against known and admitted terrorists then immediately focus the full weight of the law on credit card companies is grossly incompetent. To abandon a legal and effective tool that has been tried, tested, and proven to keep our country safe is treasonous.

    Watered Down Travel Ban

I have some friends and family who supported President Trump from early on in the process. From time to time they will ask me when I will admit that I was wrong about him. "If Trump does x... If Trump gets y... If Trump supports a policy that results in z... will you admit that you were wrong?" My answer is always "no", because I wasn't wrong. To be clear, I could be wrong in practical application, but that isn't what an election is about. Elections are about theory and speculation and, generally speaking about judging records. Trump had no record to speak of, and his history of stances on issues was all over the map. I opposed his candidacy for several major reasons, all of which are proven valid in this single issue we now refer to as the "travel ban". Here were my reasons.

    Fraudulent Rant by Judge Jeanine

If you're not familiar with Justice with Judge Jeanine, it is a show on the FOX News Network starring Jeanine Pirro. She is known for her over-the-top rants where she serves up gobs of fresh red meat for her largely hard right wing audience. While it's not unusual for her to be a little fast and loose with the facts, she has been known to occasionally return from the break with a correction from her producers. Last night, however, there was no such correction to an outright lie she told on the show, and the matter being discussed should have (at the very least) contained a disclaimer from the host. I would cut her some slack, but as a former prosecutor and judge, she should be well aware of what proper protocol should have been here.

    Wake The Hell Up, GOP!

It's not cute anymore, Republicans. The President of the United States is completely detached from reality, and you can't fix that. You can't cover it up, you can't explain it away, and let me make this as clear as I possibly can for you. You cannot possibly undo the damage you are doing to the party brand by trying to pretend this man is anything other than completely unhinged. I'm watching Sean Hannity borrow guests from the Alex Jones show in an attempt to bolster Trump's conspiratorial claims. I'm seeing relatively mainstream conservatives make themselves look like the crazed fringes of the paranoid right wing. Don't believe me? Look at this.
