Report This ObamaNation

I love it when they look straight in the camera and lie. Look at this video from Linda Douglass, White House Disinformation Officer, followed by a video of our Commander in Crew Chief Czarack Obama.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-bY92mcOdk

Here is the unedited last clip of Obama from that video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpAyan1fXCE

"Make it sound like he is saying something he didn't really say"? So tell us, Linda Douglass, what did he say?

First off, let me tell you exactly how stupid the clip she plays from Obama really is. I quote.

"If you have Insurance you like, you will be able to keep that insurance. If you have a Doctor you like, you will be able to keep that Doctor".

Oh really, Mr. President? How exactly do you mandate Insurance Companies into staying in business and not changing their plans? Do you intend to force the Doctors into involuntary servitude and legally mandate that they keep all of their patients? The fact is, nobody can honestly make that claim. Sure, they have pretty much guaranteed that insurance companies won't change their plans by forcing you onto the public option if they do. But what happens when people lose their job? Can they wait until they are employed again and get their old plan back? No. And what happens when Obama bankrupts these companies like he has everything else he has touched? Their clients will be forced on to the public plan. So assuming anyone could make such a guarantee, Obama is certainly not the one. Don't believe me? Call your insurance company and ask them to give you a written guarantee that you can remain with them indefinitely and they will not drop your coverage no matter what. I can guarantee you, that won't happen. To promise something knowing that you can never deliver on that promise is in and of itself a lie. Forgive me for taking the President's words literally. But it gets worse. She also states that "President Obama" has been saying a lot of things and people are clipping sentences and using them out of context. Speaking of context, Linda, the words in the video that you used the link to were from Senator Obama, not President Obama. So your accusation that people are taking clips of what the President has said while campaigning for his plan is in and of itself a lie. They would indeed be clips of Senator Obama campaigning for the Presidency. Yet it continues to go downhill.

In the video we then see the following quotes from Obama.

"My commitment is to make sure that we have universal health care for all Americans by the end of my first term as President"

Do you have a context in which universal does not mean all inclusive, or all Americans doesn't mean all Americans Linda? Notice how she claims it is taken out of context, yet she doesn't even try to put that one into a context.

The video goes on.

"But I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out, or fifteen years out, or twenty years out."

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but if I state that I cannot do something immediately, does it not imply that I intend to do it eventually? If I furthermore state that there will potentially be some type of transition process, doesn't that mean that I am working towards that stated goal? Help me out here, Linda. I am trying to understand. Tell us, what exactly did the President mean? But it gets even worse.

A Blow To The Tin Foil Hat Crowd

As you may well be aware, there is a group of people out there who have an irrational belief about the birthplace of the President Of The United States, Barack Obama. They insist that they know where the President was born despite the fact that neither they, nor anyone they know were present for the event. They deny the claims of family members who were there, and concoct elaborate schemes to try to back up their story. When evidence is released to the contrary, they simply ignore it. This group of people have affectionately come to be known as wearers of the old "tin foil hat". They believe that President Obama was born in Hawaii. Did I just go there? Oh yes I did.

For a fact, it is the crowd that believes that Obama was born in the United States that has handed the tin foil hat label to the other side, but with Attorney Orly Taitz releasing the alleged Kenyan Birth Certificate of President Obama, which side should now bear that label? Typically, it is a lack of any particular evidence and claims of a cover-up that lead to the distribution of that title. So who should wear the brand? Let's take a look.

As It All Unravels

I was surfing around the web looking for some updates on the whole healthcare situation, and I was shocked to see the Daily KOS has an article up supporting my basic premise that President Obama's healthcare push is basically his political dying gasp. I quote here.

What is really bad is the generic ballot, which IS the national bellwether and it now gives Republicans a 43%-42% edge.  http://www.npr.org/...

This would likely give Republicans control of the House and would allow them to cut significantly into the Democrats' Senate majority.  We would be treated to Speaker Cantor and his plans to destroy Social Security and Medicare as well as his party's position of doing nothing on healthcare and favoring of a 23% national sales tax.

This is a likelyhood if these polls continue to show that Americans want divided government.  It is time to jam through healthcare quickly and if the blue dogs object, Obama needs to step in and say to them "you dont have a choice here.  You will support this bill or you will make sure that Americans dont have universal healthcare for another 20 years".

The logic in this article is faulty whenever it is not simply reading the writing on the wall. As per that writing, they can see that clearly. It is now or never on healthcare. I, of course, prefer the latter. But the implications of that point are stunning. President Obama has gone from Messiah to a neutered lap dog in six months. He has gone from a mandate to a desperate dying gasp for a shadow of the bill he supported. The article attempts to explain why, but that is where their logic falls apart.

Sotomayor And Racial Profiling

Today, Judge Sotomayor moved one step closer to becoming a Supreme Court Justice. With the not so notable exception of RINO Lindsey Gramnesty, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to move the process along to a full vote for confirmation. I previously took a look at this horrific nominee by President Obama, but in light of the recent events with Professor Gates, I wanted to come back to this subject.

First of all, most of us have jobs where our performance is judged by occasional reviews. Typically, these reviews play a large part in determining if we will advance to higher positions. In the case of Sonia Sotomayor, the Supreme Court has heard appeals on six of her decisions, and has overturned her 4 times. This is certainly not a track record that would keep most of us in our jobs, let alone lead to a promotion. In hindsight, consider this quote from the New York Times.

Today, as President Obama moves to pick his first Supreme Court nominee as a successor to retiring Justice David H. Souter — a choice many political observers expect will be a woman — he finds a vastly altered scene, with women holding dozens of seats on the nation’s appellate courts, occupying dean’s offices at prestigious law schools, and serving in some of the highest political offices in the nation.

“The legal landscape has been totally transformed,” said Deborah Rhode, a Stanford University law professor whose research includes gender issues related to the legal profession. “Obama has a lot of possibilities.”

More than 200 women are federal district and appeals court judges, representing about a quarter of each bench, according to statistics compiled in 2008 by the American Bar Association. More than a hundred women are judges on top state courts, and a third of state chief justices are women.

By focusing on finding a specific gender to fill a position, rather than certain qualifications, one can end up with a less qualified candidate. But despite the fact that the President was using "gender profiling", there would have to be a female with a better track record than that, right? This takes us back to a May third FOX News article.

"It would be good to get people who know something besides wearing a black robe," Specter said.

He said women, Hispanics and African-Americans need to be better represented on the high court.

Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also said the court needs more women and minorities.

So here we see Senators Spector and Leahy expressing their concern that President Obama not limit himself to "gender profiling", but also expand the process to iclude "racial profiling". Racial profiling is defined as the inclusion of racial or ethnic characteristics in determining whether a person is considered likely to commit a particular type of crime or an illegal act or to behave in a "predictable" manner. President Obama said that he was searching for a judge who would be "empathetic", and apparently he came to the conclusion that a female Hispanic was more likely to "behave in this predictable manner" than a white male. And he is in good company. Sotomayor spoke of the same thing herself.

Obama's Poll Numbers

Early in his Presidency, George W. Bush was popular in spite of himself. He didn't always come across as the brightest guy, and his young Presidency was surrounded by questions of legitimacy by the media following the Florida debacle. The Country had started into a recession, and yet his job approval rating was at 56% 6 months into the job.

In 2009, President Obama entered the White House in an historic election. The first black President of the United States was ushered in as "the Messiah" by some in the press. He won in convincing fashion, and his poll numbers were high despite the recession the Country had started into. Some in the media have even implied that Bush intentionally worsened the recession to give Obama a harder start. Yet in spite of himself and the adoring coverage from a worshiping left wing media, President Obama's numbers have begun to fall... yes, lower than Bush's at the same point... and yes, while the former President's numbers are rising.

Yet so ingrained into the media is the love of Obama and hatred of Bush that CNN did everything short of apologizing for President Bush's rising numbers.

"Is Cheney's uptick due to his visibility as one of the most outspoken critics of the Obama administration? Almost certainly not," says Keating Holland, CNN polling director.

"Former President George W. Bush's favorable rating rose 6 points in that same time period, and Bush has not given a single public speech since he left office."

The poll suggests that 41 percent of Americans hold a favorable opinion of the former president, with 57 percent viewing him unfavorably.

  • Watered Down Travel Ban

    Watered Down Travel Ban

I have some friends and family who supported President Trump from early on in the process. From time to time they will ask me when I will admit that I was wrong about him. "If Trump does x... If Trump gets y... If Trump supports a policy that results in z... will you admit that you were wrong?" My answer is always "no", because I wasn't wrong. To be clear, I could be wrong in practical application, but that isn't what an election is about. Elections are about theory and speculation and, generally speaking about judging records. Trump had no record to speak of, and his history of stances on issues was all over the map. I opposed his candidacy for several major reasons, all of which are proven valid in this single issue we now refer to as the "travel ban". Here were my reasons.

  • Fraudulent Rant by Judge Jeanine

    Fraudulent Rant by Judge Jeanine

If you're not familiar with Justice with Judge Jeanine, it is a show on the FOX News Network starring Jeanine Pirro. She is known for her over-the-top rants where she serves up gobs of fresh red meat for her largely hard right wing audience. While it's not unusual for her to be a little fast and loose with the facts, she has been known to occasionally return from the break with a correction from her producers. Last night, however, there was no such correction to an outright lie she told on the show, and the matter being discussed should have (at the very least) contained a disclaimer from the host. I would cut her some slack, but as a former prosecutor and judge, she should be well aware of what proper protocol should have been here.

  • Wake The Hell Up, GOP!

    Wake The Hell Up, GOP!

It's not cute anymore, Republicans. The President of the United States is completely detached from reality, and you can't fix that. You can't cover it up, you can't explain it away, and let me make this as clear as I possibly can for you. You cannot possibly undo the damage you are doing to the party brand by trying to pretend this man is anything other than completely unhinged. I'm watching Sean Hannity borrow guests from the Alex Jones show in an attempt to bolster Trump's conspiratorial claims. I'm seeing relatively mainstream conservatives make themselves look like the crazed fringes of the paranoid right wing. Don't believe me? Look at this.
