Hope For Sale

Every now and then we get an inspiring story of people who fight against all odds and manage to overcome their hardships and come out the other end of the tunnel stronger. This is not one of those stories. Destiny Mathis of Hobart Indiana worked hard to help get President Obama elected. She campaigned for him, had Obama t-shirts made, and encouraged her friends and family to vote for him. Now, she is forced to sell a handwritten letter from the President in a desperate attempt to survive under his administration. Yet Destiny is not alone in her plight nor is she alone in the measures she took to overcome them. Ironically, she even went to the same autograph dealer that Jessica Kline, a Michigan woman who was also selling an Obama letter trying to survive in this economy used.

A struggling Michigan mom who wrote to President Barack Obama about her financial hardship and received a handwritten response from him saying, "Things will get better!," had to sell the letter to an autograph dealer to help pay for a house, Taryn Asher reported.

Jennifer Cline, 28, from Monroe, Mich., wrote to Obama in January describing how she and her husband had lost their jobs in 2007. She wrote, "I lost my job, my health benefits and my self-worth in a matter of five days."

Then she was diagnosed with two types of skin cancer, and she had no health insurance. She signed up for Medicaid, and treatment was successful. She went back to college after her unemployment benefit was extended. She added, "In just a couple of years we will be in a great spot."

Is it possible that the Obama economy is hitting his supporters even harder than those who oppose him? It has been just two short years since Peggy Joseph declared that she wouldn't "have to worry about putting gas in her car" or "paying her mortgage", yet Obama's supporters are being forced to auction off their piece of the dream.

Not to worry though. Both of these supporters state that they still support Obama, leaving me to wonder if there is anything that can snap a mind numbed obamabot moron out of their delusional political slumber.
