I covered a strange story on last week's show about a statue that was erected of a young Barack Obama in Jakarta, Indonesia. The statue has been up for one month, and already the people of Indonesia want it torn down. According to the story...

Members of the "Take Down the Barack Obama Statue in Menteng Park" group on Facebook say Obama has done nothing for Indonesia.

"Barack Obama has yet to make a significant contribution to the Indonesian nation. We could say Obama only ate and s (expletive) in Menteng. He spent his subsequent days living as an American," the web page says.

"For the dignity of a sovereign nation, Barack Obama's monument in Menteng Park must be removed immediately."

The childhood connection and his knowledge of a few words of Indonesian made Obama popular in the mainly Muslim country of 234 million people.

My initial reaction was to have a good chuckle at the story, and move along. Then I got to thinking. All he did was eat and evacuate his bowels in Indonesia? And what exactly do you think he did here prior to be electing President? Yet you guys get off with a statue in a park somewhere, and you're complaining? We're stuck with the guy littering the White House and sticking his head in front of a T.V. camera every fifteen minutes. And whatever that statue cost you, I'm sure it didn't bankrupt your country. 

For the dignity of your sovereign nation, you want the monument removed? Well, for the dignity of our sovereign nation, we would like the real thing removed. So let's make a deal.

For the sake of the dignity of two sovereign nations and to restore the standing of this great Nation in the eyes of the people of Indonesia, I propose that we, the people of these United States trade one President Barack Obama to the people of Indonesia for one Little Barry Statue. By taking their unwanted statue, and sending them one unwanted President, the people of both great nations will uniformly profit from this deal.

Now it should be noted that the statue performs a significant function for the Indonesian people. That is why, as a part of this deal, I propose that the United States be responsible for the continued payment of the salary legally ordered for a President of The United States to  one Barack Obama. In return for said payment, he will perform all of the sacred duties heretofore performed by the statue Little Barry. He will hereby agree to hold one bird, provide shade for small children, and allow local pets to relieve themselves upon his shoes.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the people of these United States have bestowed upon Barack Obama the duties of the office of the President. Hence, all further duties will be carried out by the Little Barry statue that is received in the trade. 

By accepting the terms of this agreement, it is recognized by both nations that each party received in the trade is reasonably qualified to carry on the duties of the party they replace. It is furthermore understood that this trade shall be free from any stipulations, and is not guaranteed in any way. 

In other words, no trade backs.

I believe that this offer will bring relief to both parties, and will result in significant benefit to both nations.
