The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act

Yesterday I was driving up I75 in Ohio when I saw the following sign.

ARRA

Contrary to the implications of the sign, there was no roadwork as is evidenced by the following video. I am sure there is some to come, don't get me wrong, but it is humorous to watch this Administration beat their chest long before they really do something. Remember when road work signs warned you of approaching hazards, rather than identifying the political act that stole your money to pay for it? Ah, the good old days. But I digress.

On the heels of this comes the following from Newsmax.

On a side note, here is a list of the top ten things trlrtrash wouldn't do. Don't leave home without this list.

10. Trlrtrash would never purchase a home security alarm from Burglar & Sons Home Security.

9. Trlrtrash would never take a loan from ANTNY Bank and Trust Nobody. Sorry, Joey Bag Of Doughnuts. It just ain't gonna happen.

8. Trlrtrash would never take his truck to a mechanic whos shop was located on Shadtree Ave.

7. Trlrtrash would never vote for a guy named Hitler... or Stalin... or Mussolini... or Napoleon... or Hussein.

6. Trlrtrash would never plan a vacation using a pro-Jihad travel agency.

5. Trlrtrash would never buy a car named after a 3rd World Country. Yes, that would include your Yugo, enviro-nazi.

4. Trlrtrash would never go see Dr. Acula. He will not help you. He will only take your blood.

3. Trlrtrash would never, no matter how hungry he was, eat at Sam and Ella's Diner.

2. Trlrtrash would never seek legal advice from the Law Offices of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe.

1. Trlrtrash would never ever give his money to a guy named Madoff.

Ever hear of K.I.S.S.? Keep It Simple, Stupid. What are the chances that a guy named Madoff  will "make off" with your money? Pretty damned good.

Site Updates

Just a little info to fill you in on some changes to the website. First of all, we have added a new forum. We are now running a phpbb3 forum, which is a huge step up from the old fireboard. I was also able to transfer all memberships for those who had already signed up. For those who hadn't, it is a great place to discuss the issues discussed on the show, or even the ones I missed. If you haven't already joined, I would love to have you there. Registration is free and easy.

For those who wish to subscribe to the site, just click the rss icon in the top left corner of the left sidebar and you can sign up to get all of the articles sent to your favorite reader.

The best update is the new and improved Axis Toolbar for your browser.  You can download it here and it will allow you to listen to the show from your browser without forcing you to keep a window open. It is available for firefox and internet explorer, and it also has some other handy feature like a scrolling news feed and the ability to post messages to all of the toolbar users. Try it out today and post a message on it to let me know what you think.

As always, thank you for your continued support of The Axis of Stevil Show. I hope you enjoy these new features.

Space Tomato

In case we should ever run out of room here on planet Earth to farm our own food, one should be relieved to hear of the all new "Space Tomato". Well, partially relieved anyway.According to MSNBC and the Discovery Chanel, Scientists developed a tomato that they hoped would grow on the International Space Station. While the tomato did germinate and begin to grow there, it died off rather quickly.

  • Watered Down Travel Ban

    Watered Down Travel Ban

I have some friends and family who supported President Trump from early on in the process. From time to time they will ask me when I will admit that I was wrong about him. "If Trump does x... If Trump gets y... If Trump supports a policy that results in z... will you admit that you were wrong?" My answer is always "no", because I wasn't wrong. To be clear, I could be wrong in practical application, but that isn't what an election is about. Elections are about theory and speculation and, generally speaking about judging records. Trump had no record to speak of, and his history of stances on issues was all over the map. I opposed his candidacy for several major reasons, all of which are proven valid in this single issue we now refer to as the "travel ban". Here were my reasons.

  • Fraudulent Rant by Judge Jeanine

    Fraudulent Rant by Judge Jeanine

If you're not familiar with Justice with Judge Jeanine, it is a show on the FOX News Network starring Jeanine Pirro. She is known for her over-the-top rants where she serves up gobs of fresh red meat for her largely hard right wing audience. While it's not unusual for her to be a little fast and loose with the facts, she has been known to occasionally return from the break with a correction from her producers. Last night, however, there was no such correction to an outright lie she told on the show, and the matter being discussed should have (at the very least) contained a disclaimer from the host. I would cut her some slack, but as a former prosecutor and judge, she should be well aware of what proper protocol should have been here.

  • Wake The Hell Up, GOP!

    Wake The Hell Up, GOP!

It's not cute anymore, Republicans. The President of the United States is completely detached from reality, and you can't fix that. You can't cover it up, you can't explain it away, and let me make this as clear as I possibly can for you. You cannot possibly undo the damage you are doing to the party brand by trying to pretend this man is anything other than completely unhinged. I'm watching Sean Hannity borrow guests from the Alex Jones show in an attempt to bolster Trump's conspiratorial claims. I'm seeing relatively mainstream conservatives make themselves look like the crazed fringes of the paranoid right wing. Don't believe me? Look at this.
