Amen President Obama

Wait a second. Is The Axis of Stevil Show praising the President? Did I read that title right? You absolutely did. But why would I, Steve Parry, be praising the man that I fundamentally disagree with? Because President Obama nailed one. David Letterman lobbed a hanging curve ball up there and the President hit one out of the park. Wait a second... perhaps he is an athlete. Maybe the reason he couldn't get the first pitch at the All Star Game up to home plate is because he's a hitter, not a pitcher. Anyhow, back to reality.

President Obama was ending his television blitz on the David Letterman show when the following question escaped the four lane gap between David's front toofs. Was Jimmy Carter on to something when he said that the opposition to the President was based in racism. "I think it's important to realize that I was actually black before the election," the President responded. Watch the video here.

Classic and priceless. Not just a no, a dig. Now I know he was trying (successfully) to be funny, but he was being funny at the expense of  Jimmy Carter and the rest of the left wing moonbats who have jumped on this idiotic notion. May I remind you that in our lifetime Hillary Clinton tried and failed at shaping Government Health Care? As Obama went on to point out, there is a whole host of other Presidents who have faced similar protests and criticism. One he didn't mention was this guy named Bush. Remember that guy? Yea, the one Obama repeatedly called out on the "failed policies of the last eight years"? If going to a town-hall meeting for the afternoon expressing your displeasure with a President of a different race, wouldn't traveling the Country (yes, all 57 States) for two years protesting a President of a different race also be racism? President Obama gets it, and I applaud him for pointing it out in a way that shows the complete and total ignorance of the crowd who has been pushing this nonsense.

But this goes a little further than the surface issue. President Obama stated that part of his agenda was to create an era of "post-racial, post-partisan" politics.  I quote some of his supporters here.

KEITH OLBERMANN: I hate to intrude with the facts but ours is the highest rated cable news program viewers 35 and younger and the highest rated cable news program for all viewers not on Fixed News. And since Fixed News has since now migrated completely over to serving propaganda to tin foil hatters, conspiracy theorists, paranoids and racists it is not a news organization making this show the highest rated cable news program, period.

Rachel Maddow: Are white people in America enraged by having a black president, by the success of people like Obama and Sotomayor? Is there out rage that being white in America no longer guarantees you monopolistic access to the positions of greatest power in this country?

There must be some, certainly, but whether or not this race-baiting political tactic succeeds in the 2000s, depends on whether there is enough of that kind of tappable white rage out there to compensate for how bad it makes these guys look to be seen spewing this kind of overt racial invective.

Chris Matthews and Eugene Robinson:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Do you think he smacks of the old days here?

EUGENE ROBINSON, WASHINGTON POST: Who? Joe Wilson?

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

ROBINSON: Yeah. I do...

MATTHEWS: Do you think so? That, that-

ROBINSON: That’s my opinion, that’s my opinion.

MATTHEWS: That he’s, he’s got the old black/white attitude of the South?

ROBINSON: Well he’s on, you know he has a history.

MATTHEWS: Let’s call it the old one because-

ROBINSON: He has, he has, he has a history that’s kind of New South/Old South. And, and, and, in the sense that he has-

MATTHEWS: Was he a Confederate flag guy?

ROBINSON: Hmm?

MATTHEWS: Is he a Confederate flag guy?

Now, I have a whole blog dedicated to opposing President Obama based on his policies, not his race. I have a show that does the same. I challenge any of you to find one article or one episode of the show that attacks President Obama based on his race. There isn't one. All of my protests and opposition is based on the issues. Merriam Webster defines a bigot as "a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group with hatred and intolerance". In the case of Olbermann, he calls FOX viewers racists. Why? Was there some poll I missed where FOX viewers have responded stating that they are racists? Or is this just his obstinate  and intolerant opinion of  FOX viewers? Rachel Maddow's intolerant opinion of the Obama protesters is  that they are just mad that they no longer have a monopoly on positions of power. And Eugene Robinson couldn't find one racist statement from Joe Wilson. In fact, she even stated that this was her opinion of him. That's not a very tolerant opinion. Each of these individuals are showing text book bigotry against people who have differing opinions. Each of these people are intolerant of those who oppose the policies of President Obama. Each of these examples are examples of bigotry. And those who practice bigotry are bigots.

But the biggest question is this. Why are these people sabotaging the stated agenda of the President they claim to support? They attack members of the right, despite President Obama's stated goal of "post-partisan politics". They call them racists based on opinion, not facts despite Obama's stated goal of "post-racial" politics. It is one thing to speak out on behalf of the Presidents ACORN-shaped agenda, but actions speak louder than words, people. President Obama has enough votes in his own party to push his health-care agenda and Afghanistan policies without your help. But there is one thing he cannot do without you. He cannot have "post-racial, post-partian" politics if people are throwing charges of racism based simply on their disdain for an opposing party. I will not stoop to the level of these individuals. I will rather give you food for thought and let you reach your own conclusion. I have opposed President Obama on specific policies that I disagree with him on. They have stated their approval of these same plans, yet they have worked hard to undermine the only specific part of his agenda where they could truly help him.

Title: ...
Wow, Steve, we agree! Obama hit that one clean. Has the populous forgotten that he was black this time last year?
